About the role
This permanent full-time Supervisor - Works Program / Civil Operations role at Central Darling Shire Council offers an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee the Council's works program / civil operations. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of critical local government services and the maintenance of essential community infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
- Supervise and coordinate the Council's civil operations team across the Shire, including providing direction, support and performance feedback 
- Manage the planning, scheduling and delivery of a diverse range of civil construction and maintenance projects 
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and community members to address local infrastructure needs 
- Monitor work progress, quality and safety standards to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification 
- Contribute to the development of the Council's annual works program and budget planning 
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and greater operational efficiency 
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and Council policies 
What we're looking for
- Experience in a civil operations or infrastructure supervisory role, preferably within a local government setting 
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and oversee multiple concurrent works programs 
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities, including the ability to coach, motivate and develop a team 
- Sound technical knowledge of civil operations and maintenance practices, as well as relevant legislative requirements 
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
- Current drivers licence and willingness to obtain any necessary plant/equipment operating licences 
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children's Check. 
- Valid Australian work visa or unrestricted work rights in Australia
