About The Role

Platinum Technology is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with experience in VoIP support to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have experience with HPE Aruba and Fortinet technologies, and a strong understanding of SD-WAN solutions. Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms is highly desirable. You will be based in our office located in Norwest or Sydney CBD.

How will you make an impact?

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for Platinum Technology and our clients
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime
  • Create scope of work documents for project and migration work.
  • Provide project services, including deployment of firewalls, routing, switching, and wireless technologies
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and technical teams, and act as an escalation point for other departments
  • Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
  • Manage and maintain voice communication systems (VoIP, PBX, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues.
  • Configure and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP.
  • Manage and troubleshoot ARP, ASNs, and spanning tree protocols.
  • Implement and maintain VLANs.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as required.
  • This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 20 kg.

About You

  • Australian working rights are required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Previous experience working as a Network & Security Engineer responsible for design and implementation in Medium to Large environments
  • Experience with VoIP and PBX systems
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, work ethic, and customer service when interacting with customers, internal teams, and vendors
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven document/report writing ability
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, HPE Aruba, Fortinet)

Highly desirable

  • Previous experience working for an MSP/IT Solutions Provider is highly desirable
  • Previous experience with Fortinet SD-WAN deployment is highly desirable
  • Previous experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms is highly desirable
