About the role
Part time - 7.5 hours available - 1 day per week
Fixed Term - to December 2026
Project Officer - Peer Community of Practice (CoP) will work on the co-design and implementation of Community Led Responses to Improving Hepatitis C Care Across the Wide Bay Region, Queensland.
- Conduct community consultations that provide feedback into the design and implementation of Hepatitis service access across the region.
- Facilitation of workshops (virtual and in-person) with key stakeholders, in identified communities that focus on knowledge sharing and fostering relationships to build Hepatitis service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong internal/external stakeholder relationships with other health and welfare providers to maintain continuing support for people needing Hepatitis services in the region.
- In conjunction with QuIHN harm reduction team, provide advocacy and upskilling of local service providers to implement point of care testing for Hepatitis C, to ensure longer-term sustainability of Hepatitis screening and treatment care in the region.
- Conduct point of care testing clinics across the region with a range of service providers, supported by the QuIHN team.
What we're looking for
Someone who is passionate about their work and the health outcomes of both clients and the broader community and can demonstrate:
- Understanding of and commitment to harm minimisation approach, including knowledge of the range of health and welfare issues affecting people who use substances
- Lived or living experience of substance use, and/or a demonstrated allyship with the community of people who use substances
- Previous experience in a similar role i.e., Community engagement, community development, case management, BBV/STI screening
- Tertiary qualification i.e. Certificate IV or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, CMS
- Current QLD driver's licence (or equivalent).
