Fraser Coast Tourism & Events has a vacancy for a Tourism Development & Partnerships Officer to join the team working alongside industry to build on the region's reputation as one of Australia's best big nature tourism destinations.

We operate in the pristine water playground of the Great Sandy Marine Park, protected by the largest sand island in the world, K'gari (Fraser Island), located only 3-4 hours' drive for 70% of Queensland's population living in the south-east corner of the State, and linked by direct flights to all east coast capital cities.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a record of sales success and capable of working to deadline in delivering multiple projects.

Your task will be to build connections across our partner network to help the Fraser Coast continue its growth path as a tourism region, with the bulk of your time spent at operator businesses.

You will be based in Hervey Bay, joining a team passionate about making a difference and telling the remarkable stories that set the Fraser Coast apart as a tourism destination.

A career resume showing at least five years' experience in business development, partnership management or tourism/hospitality industry roles, with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, will put you on the shortlist for interview.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems (experience with Australian Tourism Data Warehouse preferred) and database management are also required for this role.

ABOUT FCTE: Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Ltd is a not-for-profit destination marketing and events company with offices in Hervey Bay and Maryborough, charged with growing the tourism economy through product development and marketing, engaging with domestic and international consumers, trade suppliers, media outlets and businesses.

We work with more than 130 local business partners, including tour operators, accommodation providers, restaurants, attractions, hire and charter suppliers and retail businesses. We are one of 13 Regional Tourism Organisations in Queensland and partner with the Fraser Coast Regional Council and Tourism & Events Queensland.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in product development (preferably tourism) and a strong understanding of the issues impacting regional Queensland;
• Success in previous roles achieving commercial objectives with high levels of client and stakeholder satisfaction;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a membership-based organisation, including stakeholder engagement, member acquisition and retention;
• A record of achieving sales goals;
• Excellent time management and administrative skills, including business case development and report writing;
• Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills, dealing with a variety of clients and stakeholders, and success in working as a member of a team;
• Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and set personal priorities in order to meet predetermined objectives and deadlines;
• Proficient computer and database management skills, including a sound knowledge of customer relationship management systems including the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse and tourism industry booking systems
