Role Overview:
Reporting into the Design Manager, you will work within a dedicated team of product designers and partner with product managers and engineering crew to deliver delightful product experiences that help our customers to achieve their financial goals across both web and app.
You will be responsible for managing projects from initial discovery (problem definition and research) through to development and post go-live iterations. You will have primary ownership of the design experience for the Finder app ensuring the app experience and its features are simple, elegant and impactful for our customers.
In order to be successful in this role, you thrive on solving complex user problems, using data and user feedback to inform your design decisions. You will sit at the intersection of executing design projects and influencing the strategy of Finder's core product experiences.
Key Goals:
- Product usability and adoption:
Improve the overall user experience and feature adoption across our key product journeys in both app and web experiences to achieve our business outcomes informed by ongoing experimentation. - User research and validation:
Apply a robust, data-informed design process by systematically validating designs with target users. - Design system and efficiency:
Increase design and engineering efficiency by contributing to and maintaining a scalable design system.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and Deliver
: Lead the end-to-end design process for new features and improvements across the Finder app and website, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive experience. - User Research & Strategy:
Independently plan, conduct, and analyse various forms of user research, including in-depth user interviews and usability testing, to inform design decisions. - Journey Mapping:
Lead collaborative workshops to create and refine user journey maps, flows, and wireframes that identify pain points and opportunities in the user experience. - Prototyping & Testing:
Create high-fidelity prototypes to test design concepts and quickly iterate based on feedback and analytical data. - Collaboration:
Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders (including Founders) to define product requirements, deliver final assets, and ensure design integrity during implementation. - Design System Contribution:
Actively contribute to and advocate for the adoption and maintenance of our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all platforms.
Essential Requirements of the Role:
- 5 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX Design, or a similar role.
- A strong portfolio showcasing successful product launches with clear examples of your contribution to mobile apps and responsive web design.
- Expert-level proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools including Figma and other AI prototyping tools
- Demonstrable experience running and synthesising user testing and usability studies.
- Proven ability to create and articulate comprehensive user journey maps, task flows, and information architecture diagrams.
- Solid understanding of technical constraints and front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) to effectively communicate with engineering teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to a non-design audience.
