Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.

About the role

Plan, develop and manage the state-wide domestic and family violence multidisciplinary Allied Professional Services Team in Legal Aid NSW's Domestic Violence Unit, its staff and resources. Contribute to legal and community education and policy and law reform on domestic and family violence. Ensure the state-wide provision of, high quality, cost-effective and strategic Allied Professional Services to facilitate achievement of the best legal and non-legal outcomes for Legal Aid clients who have experienced domestic and family violence.

About you

You are a collaborative and compassionate leader with a strong background in working across interdisciplinary teams (i.e. partnerships with legal, health, and/or community services) to support clients experiencing socio-economic disadvantage. Your experience includes providing high-quality clinical supervision to Allied Professional Services (APS) staff, fostering reflective practice and professional growth. You are committed to delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive support. A skilled communicator and relationship-builder, you work effectively across teams and disciplines, influencing and partnering with colleagues and managers to ensure cohesive, client-centred service delivery.

The essential requirements for this role:

You must:

  • Bachelor Social Work or equivalent Advanced Level 7 Degree OR Masters of Social Work OR related Bachelor Degree such as Psychology

  • Minimum 7 years practice experience

  • Must hold valid NSW drivers license

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check

  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)

The Family Law Division have several roles where it is a statutory obligation for staff to hold a valid Working with Children Check. You will be required to provide your Working with Children Check details prior to commencement in any role requiring the check.
