As the Finance Business Partner for the Centre for Youth Mental Health, you'll play a crucial role in managing grants and contracts across both the University of Melbourne and Orygen . You'll partner with key stakeholders to drive financial strategy and performance, providing valuable insights to guide decision-making and support business growth. This position offers you the chance to make a significant impact on youth mental health research while developing your expertise in complex financial management .

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Grants and Contracts : Oversee a portfolio of research grants and contracts, ensuring compliance and timely reporting across both organisations.
  • Provide Financial Insights : Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate Across Teams : Build strong relationships with researchers, program managers, and central support teams to drive efficient financial processes.
  • Ensure Compliance : Navigate complex funding rules and organisational policies to maintain financial integrity.

  • Drive Process Improvement : Identify and implement enhancements to financial management systems and workflows.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a qualified accountant with experience in grants management, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders in a complex organizational setting.

You may also:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary degree in accounting/finance with CA/CPA qualifications.
  • Have experience managing grants and contracts in Not-for-Profit, Clinical, or Higher Education settings.
  • Possess extensive experience with analytical tools and accounting systems.
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Show adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be a strong team player with the flexibility to support various financial management needs .
