About Western Distributors

Western Distributors is a well-established business (that has been in operation for more than 50 years) that supplies flooring solutions, including carpets, tiles, floating floors, vinyl, and rugs. The company is a family owned business employing more than 50 employees, and many have been with the business for more than 10 years, some for 20 years, and some for 30 years +.

Western Distributors is seeking to employ a Salesperson for their Carpets department. This vacancy has become available due to a staff member that will be retiring later this year.

Skills & experience

The skills and experience you need to perform this role include:

  • Prior sales experience (experience in the flooring industry would be beneficial);
  • Ability to read plans and calculate square metres for installation of flooring products;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Good computer skills; and
  • A strong work ethic.

Ability to work Saturdays is essential from 8am to 1pm (as part of a 5-day week).

Duties & responsibilities

The person we are seeking to employ will be required to:

  • Perform a sales role / product selection for carpets;
  • Interact with customers;
  • Process sales;
  • Coordinate delivery and installation of carpets; and
  • Perform general cleaning duties.
