Are you a registered psychologist committed to culturally safe, healing-informed care? Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services (EDAS) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychologist to join the Ngaliya Ngara Program, supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal individuals and families across Darkinjung Country.
About the Role
The Ngaliya Ngara Program provides therapeutic care through a cultural and clinical lens, guided by community voices and grounded in self-determination. As a Psychologist, you will deliver high-quality, culturally responsive assessments and therapeutic interventions.
This role supports Aboriginal people and their families experiencing trauma, intergenerational grief, and mental health challenges within a collaborative transdisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering culturally appropriate psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions
• Providing therapeutic support to individuals, families, and groups
• Co-developing treatment plans that reflect client-led goals
• Supporting clients navigating NDIS, justice, education, and health systems
• Collaborating with EDAS staff, cultural mentors, and external stakeholders
• Leading professional development and contributing to service improvement
• Advocating for client needs and embedding cultural safety in all service contexts
You will bring:
• Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist
• Experience providing clinical assessments and evidence-based therapy
• Understanding of intergenerational trauma and its impacts on Aboriginal communities
• Strong documentation and report writing skills, especially for NDIS and therapeutic purposes
• A trauma-informed, person-led, and culturally safe approach to care
• Collaborative and reflective practice with a focus on continual learning
Essential Requirements
• AHPRA registration (Psychologist)
• Experience in therapeutic service delivery
• Working With Children Check (NSW)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current Police Check and NSW Driver's Licence
Desirable
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
• Familiarity with therapeutic treatment plans
• Experience working with children, young people, and families
• Understanding of local community-based services on the Central Coast
• Confidence in group facilitation, community education, or yarning circles
