A fixed term, full time position is available for a Medical Oncology Registrar from 17 November 2025 until the end of the clinical year, 1 February 2026.

Essential Requirements:

  • Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
  • Participating in Royal Australasian College of Physicians physician-training program.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines

1.  Provides high quality patient care using an evidence based, cost effective approach 
  • Attendance to inpatients of the medical oncology unit and patients referred by other units.
  • Attendance at selected Specialist Clinics and clinics in Day Therapy 
  • Attendance to unwell patients in Day Therapy
  • Participates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncology
  • Completes all patient related documentation according to the Centre's needs 
  • Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team 
  • Contributes to team meetings and educational activities
  • Actively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activities 
  • Participates in departmental research projects and audits
  • Responds to on call commitments within an appropriate timeframe 
  • Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Close liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology Unit 
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures 


2.  Clinical Research Protocol Development
  • Enters and manages patients on clinical trials 
  • Participates in clinical trial management (if appropriate)


3.  Trains residents, medical students and participates in other educational activities 
  • Participates in internal and external educational programs. 


4.  Take part in all activities that contribute to ongoing professional and personal development
  • Attend approved training courses in preparation college accreditation
  • Attend weekly academic meetings as appropriate
  • Maintain satisfactory clinical & academic performance, reviewed every six months
