Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Trainee to join our team in Palliative Care and Medical Oncology. This is an exciting opportunity for trainees seeking accredited Cancer Care setting terms for Palliative Medicine advanced training or medical oncology experience in pursuit of training in another medical specialty.

About the Role

The registrar post involves rotation through medical oncology settings to maximize learning opportunities. Rotations include in-patient wards and outpatient clinics. The clinics are supported by HMOs, and registrars' duties include supervising patients attending for chemotherapy, addressing inter-current problems, and managing anti-cancer therapy side effects.

  • Clinical duties are rostered for 43 hours per week, including five hours of rostered training time.
  • Consultation with patients from other units is required at all campuses.
  • Participation in clinical meetings includes case presentations, journal article reviews, and topic presentations.
Research Opportunities

The Oncology Department is one of the busiest clinical units at Monash Health. Phase 1, 2, and 3 oncology clinical trials are conducted at the Monash Health Translation Precinct Clinical Trial Centre. Trainees are encouraged to undertake or continue a clinical project.
