Superintendent - Shutdown

UGL, a member of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an experienced Shutdown Superintendent to lead the planning and execution of major shutdown events for APLNG's Train and Train This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of shutdown scopes, while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Pre-Shutdown:

• Lead shutdown planning and execution readiness activities.
• Develop UGL's Shutdown Execution Plan and cost estimates.
• Manage subcontractor engagement and performance.
• Coordinate support disciplines (Scaffolding, Insulation, Cranes, Painting).
• Drive recruitment and onboarding strategies.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards.

Execution:

• Oversee field supervision and resolve schedule conflicts.
• Champion safety culture and quality assurance.
• Ensure accurate reporting of progress and issues.

Post-Shutdown:

• Manage demobilisation and site rehabilitation.
• Participate in lessons learned and performance reviews.

About You

Qualifications & Experience:

• Trade background or engineering degree.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven experience in turnaround/shutdown management.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset.
• Sound knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Experience working in multi-cultural teams is highly regarded.
