The Real Review

is Australia & New Zealand's leading digital wine review publication. We are seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Membership Sales Lead to grow our winery membership base and drive commercial initiatives across our entire product range – from promotional tools wineries can use in their marketing to events and subscriptions. This role is pivotal in growing winery memberships, increasing participation in our events, boosting product sales, and building our revenue base from both member and non-member wineries.

Key responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth: Increase winery memberships and renewals by clearly articulating the benefits of joining The Real Review.

Drive sales of all winery and trade products, such as trade memberships, Top Wineries and other event participation, promotional tools such as videos, bottle stickers and tasting notes (in English and translated formats)

Develop and execute an annual sales plan to meet revenue targets from both current and prospective winery members.

Membership development

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with wineries to encourage ongoing engagement and repeat business.

Help wineries understand the value and return on investment of participating in The Real Review's products and content platforms.

Event participation and support

Present and sell from an annual events calendar to secure winery participation for The Real Review events.

Work with internal teams to ensure winery expectations are met and deliverables are delivered professionally.

Market insights & communication

Serve as the main liaison between wineries and internal teams (editorial, marketing, event ops).

Gather and share feedback to guide product development and improve offerings.

Stay current with industry trends and wineries' marketing needs to tailor sales pitches and services effectively.

CRM & reporting

Make full use of our CRM tools, including accurate records of all winery interactions, deal progress, and follow-ups.

Deliver regular sales reports and pipeline updates to management.

The ideal candidate

Has sales background with wineries and/or in the wine industry

Brings proven experience in B2B sales, partnerships, and account management — ideally within the wine, media or events sectors.

Has excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Loves wine and the wine industry

Is a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Is highly organised with strong reporting and follow-up discipline.

Ideally is a digital specialist with familiarity of digital marketing and content production.

Location

Greater Sydney region ideal but we will consider applicants from across Australia

Flexible WFH arrangement with 1-2 days per week in our Alexandria office
