We are looking for a talented chef to join our team and help bring our venue to the next level.
Located on the busy Chapel Street in Windsor, our cafe is a known foodie spot with Chapel's best coffee. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional food and service to our loyal customers.
Hours of work will be 5 days over a weekly roster, including weekends, allowing for a dynamic and engaging work environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen, showcasing their skills and creativity.
You will be responsible in supporting our head chef to ensure the food is of a high standard.
Requirements:
● Have a passion for cooking,
● Be able to organize production schedules
● Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures
● Have a reliable form of transportation
● Able to Work well under pressure
● Able to demonstrate strong leadership skill and be a team player
Tasks:
● Preparing various food items as per the menu
● Prepare daily production list
● Planning menus,
● Estimating food cost, ordering food supplies, receiving and checking stock to ensure suitable for use.
● Guiding and giving direction to other kitchen staff
● Ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the business specification and commitment to quality.
● Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the working period.
● Verify other staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
● Ensuring proper sanitization of working stations, storage area and entire kitchen area.
● Places food and supplies orders as directed.
● Train kitchen staff and junior staff.
● Organize kitchen meeting to discuss various problem and provide solutions
● Managing staff level in the kitchen area
