As a Senior Developer at David Jones, you will be integral to the development and optimisation of solutions that streamline and elevate our operational processes. This role demands a wealth of experience in database technologies and a robust understanding of business processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining database solutions tailored to our organisation's specific needs, ensuring they are resilient, scalable, and highly efficient.
What does the role involve?
- Designing and implementing database solutions, including creating data models, schemas, and database objects.
- Participating in the SDLC phases including requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment of PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers, and packages.
- Optimizing database performance through SQL script tuning, indexing, and data structure improvements
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate databases with various systems and applications.
- Ensuring data integrity and smooth information flow between systems.
- Identify and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
- Maintaining detailed documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures.
Who are we looking for?
- 8-10 years of experience as a Developer with a strong record of successful database projects.
- Experience with Oracle Retail.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, and database design principles.
- Expertise in Oracle database and DB2 technologies.
- Experience with Oracle APEX.
- Familiarity with DevOps for Database Deployment (CI/CD for Automated Deployment of Database Scripts).
- Knowledge of Order Management Systems.
- Familiarity with Workato, Kafka, and Automic is a plus.
