About the Business

Catalyst Metals owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Plutonic Gold Mine produces 85koz of gold annually. The Company also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project in Bendigo.

Over the next 12 to 18 months, the Company plans to bring three new mining areas at Plutonic into production.

Departing from Perth you'll fly directly to Plutonic arriving within 90mins of departure. Once onsite you are accommodated in a well-established camp that boasts a substantial gym, squash courts, multipurpose tennis/basketball court, pool, and modern ensuite rooms (no hoteling) with WiFi, just to list some of the facilities. Once on site you'll find great food in the large dry mess & after hours socialize at the tavern style wet mess or around the firepit during the cooler months. The camp is a short 5-minute drive to the mine complex.

The Role

Working 7 days on, 7 days off  working nightshift, dayshift roster, be a part of the experienced maintenance team of over 60+ people.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, our Underground Fitters are responsible for quality preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to our heavy mobile fleet consisting of modern Sandvik development & production rigs, Sandvik load & haul fleet, Normet charge rigs, Volvo IT's, various ancillary plant & RCT remote control systems.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certificate.
  • Previous experience on underground equipment.
  • Quality workmanship with excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety.
  • Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive work ethic
  • Current "C" Class WA Drivers Licence.
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
  • ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence & Tyre fitting qualifications are also highly desirable

The mobile plant maintenance workshop facility boasts an impressive 6 bay steel structured workshop with 2 x overhead cranes and service pit. We currently carry $4+ Million worth of parts & consumables in our dedicated maintenance store situated centrally to the workshop. There is also a separate Light Vehicle workshop & dedicated boilermaker facility in close proximity to the main workshop.

You will receive on-going OEM training for the successful candidate who is keen to develop their skills with the opportunity for career progression.
