M+J Builders is a respected and multi-award-winning construction company based in the Northern Territory. Majority Indigenous-owned and family-operated, the company has over 20 years of experience delivering complex projects across commercial, residential and defence sectors. They are known for their strong commitment to honesty, respect and transparency and pride themselves on fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
The Project Manager, Technical will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of technically complex construction projects. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets and quality standards while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The successful candidate will liaise closely with design teams, contractors and clients to resolve technical issues and deliver innovative, practical solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing technical construction projects, with proven skills in problem-solving and stakeholder communication. A background in engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Attention to detail, leadership capability and a commitment to safety are essential attributes for success.
As part of this role, you will successfully lead the large scale refurbishment of an active, operational building in Darwin, navigating complex challenges such as after-hours works, minimising disruption to other tenants, demanding exceptional communication skills. In addition, you will also be involved in project managing a government-owned infrastructure facility, south of Darwin, overseeing high-level technical drawings for construction and installation. Both projects required a technically focused approach, operating above standard construction project management.
Please direct all enquiries to Donna Ferris, Director, TESS Search Partners or alternatively, apply and we will reach out to confidentially discuss your interest.
