Project Manager – Structural Steel Fabrication

First Line Engineering Pty Ltd is a structural steel fabrication and installation company based in Yatala, delivering commercial and industrial projects across South East Queensland. We focus on quality workmanship, clear communication, and maintaining strong client relationships. We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with site installation experience and strong people skills to manage projects from award through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple structural steel projects from award through to handover.
  • Plan and oversee fabrication, procurement, delivery, and site installation activities.
  • Coordinate with builders, engineers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise site operations, including crane lifts, erection sequencing, and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Lead client and site meetings, manage variations, and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive safety, quality, and compliance across all stages of delivery.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel project management, with proven on-site installation experience.
  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 5131, 4100, and 1554 standards.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and foster teamwork.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience with Strumis is highly regarded but not essential - training will be provided.
  • Trade background in structural steel advantageous.
