The East Kimberley

The Opportunity

This is a rare and challenging career opportunity to join a dynamic local government where you can make a difference through the delivery of critical projects and services that contribute to the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley's strategic objective of Connecting our cultures, striving for prosperity, celebrating the spirit of country and community.

Working closely with the infrastructure operations team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of asset allocation decisions. Additionally you will support the generation of reports for internal and external purposes, and provide insights to support informed decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and implementing the Shire's: Rolling 10-year Capital Works Program, 10-year Asset Management Plan, Asset Management Policy, relevant Asset Management Strategies, Systems and Processes;
  • Providing technical support to the Department as and when required;
  • Coordinating input from both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that new assets being created satisfy the asset, operational, maintenance and safety needs of the Shire;
  • Ensuring Council's Asset Management systems, databases and programs (including condition assessments) meet the needs of Council;
  • Ensuring asset information is updated after renewal, replacement and maintenance of assets;
  • Accurately reporting on asset condition and financial forecasts to Executive Management and Council as required for Capital Works planning and preventative asset maintenance;
  • Working to create a great team environment using effective team communication and relationship building skills;
  • Providing leadership in relation to service delivery, innovation and planning to meet organisational goals, improve organisational performance and promote a professional, high-functioning and collaborative culture.
