Get to Know the Role

Border Express currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Forklift Operator/ Parcel Sorter to join the team at our Mackay Branch.

This role involves pallet breakdown, labelling and sorting of parcel freight and cartons, loading and unloading of trucks and running freight. A strong knowledge of Mackay and surrounding areas is highly advantageous.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - Casual hours and rates

You will need to BE able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Excellent attitude, a good work ethic and reliability.
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg as part of regular duties.
  • Complete and maintain parcel processing records and all documentation associated as required
  • Communicate amongst your team and supervisors to meet agreed schedules, and escalate any issues in relation to processes, safety and operations

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of transport industry experience preferred.
  • A valid Forklift licence is essential
  • Ability to adhere to WHS and Safety Regulations
  • Excellent attitude, a good work ethic and reliability
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive lifting
  • Great local knowledge of Mackay and surrounding areas
  • Ability to work unsupervised
