Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of others? We are seeking and Allied Health Assistant to join our dynamic inpatient team, supporting Allied Health Professionals across a range of disciplines including Social Work and Occupational Therapy.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of consumers by providing practical and therapeutic support that promotes recovery, independence, and community integration.
About the Role:
Working within Ward 1H, you will provide essential support to Allied Health Professionals across multiple disciplines, contributing to comprehensive patient care and rehabilitation outcomes. Your appointment will be at the AHA2 or AHA3 level, determined by your qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Allied Health Professionals in delivering quality patient care
- Assist with therapeutic activities and patient mobility programmes
- Maintain equipment and prepare treatment areas
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide compassionate care to older persons with mental health conditions
Classification & Appointment
Appointment to this role will be at AHA2 or AHA3 level, depending on qualifications and experience:
- AHA2: Requires Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or Mental Health (or equivalent).
- AHA3: Requires Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) and experience in leading group interventions and supporting complex care needs.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health - The Division of Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for youth, adults and older people in northern Adelaide. Services are provided through community health centres and hospitals, and to consumers in their own homes.
Forensic Mental Health - A statewide service that operates as part of the Division of Mental Health for forensic patients and prisoners.
Community Sites - Elizabeth GP Plus, Modbury GP Plus and Gilles Plains GP Plus Super Clinics providing community based care.
