We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Facilities Inspection Engineer, to join us in our Operations Gas West team Perth, WA on a Permanent Full Time Contract.

Reporting to the WA Asset Engineering Team Lead, you'll work with Gas West Operations to enhance maintenance, inspections, and reliability across APA facilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of gas infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inspection reports, raise corrective actions, and update APA's CMMS (Maximo) to ensure AS3788 compliance.
  • Assist Gas West Transmission operations with inspections, asset validation, and risk assessments.
  • Provide integrity engineering advice to APA Projects, Asset Management, Operations, and Planning & Scheduling.
  • Contribute to improving maintenance execution and prioritisation of critical tasks.
  • Manage engineering requests for APA and third-party assets, develop project scopes, and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Execute Management of Change (MOC) for static mechanical equipment, including piping, valves, and heaters on APA and third-party assets.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for operational and engineering improvements.

Your background

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Materials) with extensive facilities inspection and integrity engineering experience in gas transmission assets.
  • NER certification and CPEng (Mechanical/Material) qualifications are highly desirable, along with AICIP/CBIP certification.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards, best practices, and asset lifecycle phases, including design, construction, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning.
  • Skilled in developing scoping documents, project proposals, and providing technical reviews of calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to effectively plan work, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High level of computer literacy and a current manual driver's licence.
