Head of Data and Digital

A high performing organisation in the aviation sector is seeking an experienced Head of Data and Digital to lead the delivery of its technology roadmap, drive innovation and ensure operational excellence.

Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands on, strategic role with approximately 65% strategy and 35% Hands on. Initially a standalone position, there is scope to potentially grow the team over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of digital and ICT strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Drive innovation while maintaining operational stability across critical airport systems, including terminal operations, check in and boarding technology and infrastructure mapping tools.
• Identify and implement AI, automation and digital initiatives to improve processes and business outcomes.
• Manage business continuity, disaster recovery and ICT governance frameworks, including cybersecurity and compliance.
• Collaborate with executives and managers to identify opportunities for technology enabled improvements and deliver enterprise wide digital capability uplift.
• Oversee ICT operations, including vendor management and escalation of high priority technical issues
• Analyse investment opportunities, emerging technologies and initiatives to enhance efficiency, resilience and passenger experience.

Systems & Technology

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and core airport systems including CUTE, SERGE maps, BINDI maps and terminal operations (Highly desirable)
• Support day to day ICT operations while driving strategic projects, including new system implementations and kiosk rollouts.
• Comfortable managing both operational challenges and strategic innovation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Passionate about technology and change management, with the ability to bring teams on the journey.
• Strong communicator across technical and non technical teams, with the ability to present and advise executives and Board members on ICT strategy and initiatives.
• Experience in ICT strategy, operations and disaster recovery within aviation, transport or similar industries.
• Leadership experience managing small to mid sized teams and delivering complex programs.
• Comfortable assisting with day to day small technical issues, such as printers, Wi-Fi, monitors and other hardware or terminal system support.
• Excited by AI, automation and digital transformation, with a focus on leveraging technology to improve processes and outcomes.

Workplace Expectations

• Minimum 3 days in office in Marcoola per week - could be more pending project needs
• Responsible for supporting critical terminal systems and urgent ICT issues, alongside strategic initiatives.

Remuneration

• $165 - $215K + super + STI
