With an employee base of 140 people (118 FTE) you will be joining a diverse and inclusive team.

Your role as a Municipal Officer

As our Municipal Officer, you will carry out a range of maintenance and construction activities across Council assets to ensure safe and accessible use by the community.

This includes work on parks, reserves, walking tracks, roads, stormwater systems, bridges, waste facilities, and buildings.

We have multiple opportunities available: the role requires flexibility in operating plant and equipment and a willingness to undertake physical tasks as directed, with a strong focus on safety and environmental outcomes underpinning all work performed.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for candidates who are reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn. While no specific skills are required for this role, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are essential.

  • Experience in maintenance or construction related fields.
  • Ability to obtain relevant Safety and plant certifications and competencies.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and or maintain a First Aid certificate.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Essential to hold and continue to hold a current unencumbered Class C driver's license.
  • Experience or qualifications in the construction or maintenance of Public Infrastructure (desirable).

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-conscious, and community-minded. They will be confident operating equipment, and ready to tackle physical tasks. Strong teamwork, a flexible attitude, and a focus on environmental responsibility are key.
