Western Obstetrics is committed to making high-quality pregnancy care accessible to everyone by offering affordable services led by a team of GP Obstetricians, midwives, and allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologists, and lactation consultants. Our midwifery-led model ensures continuity of care, with the same dedicated team supporting each patient throughout pregnancy and after birth.

Due to growing demand, we are now looking to expand our General Practitioner services with a newly created 0.8 part time role on either an employed or contractor basis. Offering a blend of in clinic and telehealth appointments this role will play an integral part of our allied health team, ensuring high quality, holistic care for patients. This position will allow a high degree of flexibility and autonomy for the successful candidate without compromising on professional support.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care, including preventive health, chronic disease management, and acute presentations.
  • Deliver consultations and care in women's health, mental health, and paediatrics.
  • Conduct appropriate investigations, prescribe, and manage patient follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the practice team, including specialists, nurses, and administration staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in line with RACGP and AHPRA standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and uphold the standards of ethical and professional practice.

Skills and Experience

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent.
  • Current AHPRA registration (unrestricted).
  • Medical indemnity insurance appropriate for private practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centred approach to care.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in women's health, mental health, and paediatrics.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
