The Campus Development portfolio drives the University's growth and sustainability by managing infrastructure, maintenance, and major capital projects. It leads the Campus Development Plan to ensure the campus evolves strategically, supporting innovation and the needs of students, staff, and the community. Through careful planning and sustainable design, the team creates a high-quality environment for learning, research, and engagement.
Your New Role
As a Project Manager Minor Works within the Campus Development portfolio, the role is crucial in driving projects from inception to completion. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic oversight to deliver small and minor capital works on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager Minor Works will be responsible for managing external contractors, ensuring all project stages—from planning, design, and procurement through to construction and commissioning—are executed efficiently.
A key aspect of the role involves proactive risk management, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to compliance and safety standards. The ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders is essential. The Project Manager must balance competing priorities, ensuring each project aligns with the University's sustainability commitments, operational objectives, and future-focused Campus Development Plan.
Your Key responsibilities will include –
- Plan, manage and deliver small to medium sized projects within the Minor Works portfolio, including refurbishments, relocations, minor capital works and infrastructure projects ensuring that building and engineering services and related infrastructure technical advice is sought and incorporated. Undertake forward works planning for loose furniture contributing directly to the delivery of the University's sustainability targets.
- Lead the development of processes, procedures, tools and templates to inform the planning and delivery of projects within the Minor Works portfolio
- Apply knowledge of construction methods, procurement strategies, and compliance requirements with Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Australian standards.
- Monitor and control project budgets, providing regular reporting on financial performance and forecasts.

Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor degree in relevant field (eg Construction Management, , Interior Design, Architecture) with minimum 3 years project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training working, in built form projects or facilities management.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively procure and manage service contracts and projects of varying size, cost and complexity simultaneously.
- Previous experience and the ability to prepare, manage and work within allocated budgets.
