Application Systems Engineer – NV2 Government Cleared

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Systems Engineer with strong experience in Azure DevOps and Azure Application deployment to maintain a portfolio of applications and their associated automated deployment pipelines.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions by integrating development and operations best practices across the full software development lifecycle. The role is a part of a broader team providing Application operations, maintenance and support our key customers. This role is Perth based and full time onsite at our clients office.

This is a permanent position, which may have a requirement for on-call work on a rotational basis for after hours support, and overtime rates will apply. Government Clearance (NV2) is mandatory for this role.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the clients Infrastructure Engineering Services provider to deliver routine maintenance to the business applications portfolio, and the applications underlying infrastructure and various ICT environments.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts, and Test Plans).
  • Collaborate with your team of application support and maintenance engineers to ensure seamless integration, testing, and delivery of solutions.
  • Configure build and release pipelines, including deployment gates, approvals, and rollback strategies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Apply security, performance, and cost-optimisation best practices in cloud development and deployment.
  • Support version control, branching strategies, and code review processes using Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Maintain technical documentation and provide training/support to internal teams on DevOps tools and practices.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows and resolve deployment issues.
  • Manage infrastructure changes required to support applications, including .NET framework updates, certificate configuration, related configuration management and environment-level adjustments
  • Additionally, hands on application development and maintenance activities as member of the application support and maintenance team will be required

What We Are Looking For

  • NV2 Clearance is mandatory for this role.
  • Strong proficiency with Azure cloud development and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex deployments.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, AngularJS, React.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or DevOps Engineer Expert certification is preferred.
