Support Worker (Casual position)

About the role

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll provide compassionate, person-centred care while supporting meaningful activities that build confidence, connection, and overall wellbeing

Your responsibilities will vary based on our client's and family needs, but may include the following:

Support with daily living tasks such as house work, meal preparation, personal care, transport, medication, understanding and completing paperwork, creating routines and structure, working towards goals, teaching livings skills to build independence, support in the community, support at work, supporting their families (partners, caregivers, children)

Participant Locations

· Ipswich – Wednesday's 1pm to 6pm, plus travel

· Mount Crosby – Monday's 11:30am to 6:30/7pm, Tuesday's 11:30am to 6:30/7pm, Friday's 9am to 4:30pm

· Mount Gravatt - Sunday's 9am to 1pm (additional shifts when needed will be available)

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience (can be lived) supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, Amputees, chemical sensitivities and behavioural issues.
  • Someone who is self-directed, reliable, passionate, fun but can be firm when needed
  • Committed to providing Family & Person Centred Care
  • Can recognise gaps and be proactive in filling them, strong communication skills both verbally & written, engage in self-reflection and is committed to ongoing learning and growth
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts if/when required

Mandatory Requirements

  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • NDIS Yellow Card
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • National Police check (No older than 3 months)
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transport
  • Full Comprehensive Car Insurance (business)

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Disability Services, Youth Work and/or Family, Human Services highly regarded
