Laboratory Assistant – Molecular

4Cyte Pathology is a Sydney-based pathology laboratory providing clinical diagnostics services to healthcare practitioners and the local community.

About the role

The key responsibility of this full-time position is to perform PCR procedures with our Evening shift (5pm-1am) and tests in compliance with the department established protocols, as well as other areas of the laboratory as needed. These include:

  • Adhering to policies and procedures, prioritise and organise workflow safely and efficiently, and commitment to quality.
  • Must be committed to work on a roster based weeknights and weekends
  • Being actively involved in specimen preparation, set up and microscopy
  • Maintaining and utilising equipment and instrumentation.
  • Exhibit high level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • A tertiary education in Medical Science / Molecular
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ensure that accurate clinical diagnostic microbiology results are provide promptly.
