Role Description

Join Montdami's team of in-house Project Surveyors under the leadership of our Surveying Manager. The Surveying team at Montdami supports the successful delivery of projects across civil, infrastructure, and construction works by providing accurate, timely, and reliable survey solutions from project start through to completion.

As a Surveyor at Montdami, you will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams to deliver set-out, as-built, and verification surveys that directly contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes on site. You'll be part of a collaborative, hands-on team that values technical excellence, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist surveying expertise to support the accurate planning, set-out, and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Establish, maintain, and verify survey control, reference frameworks, and spatial data in accordance with design and project requirements.
  • Deliver high-accuracy set-out, as-built, and verification surveys using total stations, GNSS/GPS, and related technologies.
  • Interpret engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to translate design intent into precise, constructible site information.
  • Validate, analyse, and quality-check survey data, calculations, and outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
  • Prepare and manage survey deliverables including models, drawings, reports, and digital data for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams to resolve spatial, dimensional, and constructability challenges.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment safely and efficiently, applying professional judgement to identify and manage survey risks.

Minimum Education/Professional Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Ideally you have minimum of 1-2 years surveying experience
  • Work experience with Trimble Geospatial equipment strongly preferred (Trimble GNSS)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Trimble Business Centre, AutoCAD)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience gained in a similar role
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and laser scanners.
  • Be willing to travel to various site locations around Melbourne growth corridors and Metro Area
  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of self – motivation
  • Ability and willingness to engage with technical groups
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Hold a valid driving license
