Peninsula Vet Emergency and Referral Hospital offers a wide range of clinical services including a 24-hour emergency service, surgery, internal medicine, and anaesthesia. About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Nurse to join our team in a part-time capacity, with an immediate start available.

You'll be working alongside and learning from our highly skilled, passionate, and supportive internal medicine team.

Under the direction of the Referral Nurse Team Leader and support from Senior Medicine Nurses, you will be integral to the management of complex medical cases and responsible for working collaboratively with our Internal Medicine Specialists and Registrars to provide outstanding patient care.

This includes:

  • Assisting with diagnostic procedures (ultrasound, endoscopy, advanced imaging)
  • Placing and managing intravenous catheters and feeding tubes
  • Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients with complex medical conditions
  • Providing high-level communication and support to clients navigating their pet's diagnosis and treatment

About you

We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and highly motivated nurses with strong clinical skills. To be considered for this position, you will have a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, with three to five years' experience working in referral nursing or a similar role, ideally in internal medicine.

This role would suit nurses who demonstrate the following:
