About the Role:

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, compassionate Consumer Peer Support Worker to join our team at Western Health's Outer Community in Melton. You will be a valuable addition to our multidisciplinary teams who continue to strive in the improvement and support we offer our consumers and expand our lived experience workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

This role requires lived/living experience as a consumer of mental health services and a good understanding of the recovery process. We are seeking people who are willing to walk alongside consumers in their recovery journeys, sharing your own experiences in a way that inspires hope and possibility.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and accessing mental health services.
• Ability to mutually support consumers in their own recovery; sharing your lived experience to support them to take positive steps towards their own wellbeing.
• Build an understanding of the effectiveness of the role of lived experience workforces within clinical mental health services.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, liaise and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
