About the role:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Divisional Support Officer, leads and manages a small team responsible for supporting the Executive Director and Directors in the effective operations of Corporate Services Division.

This is a senior and strategic role for an experienced business management officer or policy advisor that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You lead and manage a team through change to ensure a positive organisational culture and ensure the highest standards of performance and integrity are achieved.

In this role you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of the division's annual delivery plan, including regular tracking, progress reporting and coordination of Divisional Performance Forums.
  • Applying high levels of influence, negotiation, and critical thinking, you will build, maintain and leverage relationships and partnerships to ensure effective coordination of work and quality reports and briefings to meet priority deadlines.
  • Drive planning and reporting for the Corporate Services Division, ensuring consistency with organisational requirements.
  • Plan, oversight and deliver the provision of executive assistance, policy advice and project management support to the Executive Director and Directors in the division.
  • Lead the provision of general administrative support across Corporate Services Division, including briefing and correspondence workflows, audit and compliance activities, document management and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to ensure organisational requirements are met.

Skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualifications in business management, policy, public administration, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • A proven record of achievement in a senior coordination, policy, business advisory or program role, demonstrating contribution to high business performance and a positive organisational culture.
  • Proven executive coordination skills - utilizing high levels of negotiation and influence to ensure executives and management deliver high quality coordinated work to meet priority deadlines.
  • Demonstrated focus on accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency.
  • Proven capability to build and sustain enduring relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of outcomes and achievement of goals and targets.
