About the role:

This position involves using your well consolidated skills and expertise to provide best care to patients of the West, including assessment and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will also support and facilitate the development of our junior musculoskeletal staff.

Western Health provides adult musculoskeletal physiotherapy outpatient services across three sites providing assessment and rehabilitation for orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. We also offer a range of Adult Musculoskeletal Advanced Practice services including:

  • Virtual Fracture Clinic
  • Physiotherapy Led Orthopaedic Screening Clinic
  • Physiotherapy Led Neurosurgical Screening Clinic
  • Osteoarthritis Hip & Knee Service (OAHKS)
  • Primary contact within the Emergency Department
  • Non-Weight Bearing Coordinator

You will be part of the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team who are dedicated to providing holistic patient-centered care, delivering excellent patient outcomes, and providing evidence-based practice. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction within the team and be involved in research and quality improvement activities, while working collaboratively with other senior clinicians. You will receive supervision from Grade 4 Physiotherapists and be well supported in developing your clinical, leadership, supervision and research skills. Grade 3 Physiotherapists at Western Health contribute to our Education and Training programs within the Physiotherapy service.

  • Have well-developed skills in provision of care to musculoskeletal patients in an outpatient capacity, including assessment and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and fracture management
