The Role
We have an exciting permanent, full-time position available to join our Pacific Maritime Training Services (PMTS) team in the Maritime faculty at TAFE Queensland's Great Barrier Reef International Marine College.

As a TAFE PMTS Teacher, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the Business Manager.

Salary
The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $91, $103, gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

  • Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
  • Experience of Chief Engineer / Second Engineer
  • Technical knowledge such as seamanship, navigation, marine engineering, communications or vessel maintenance
  • Operational experience on Guardian Patrol Boats or similar
  • Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:
  • TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;
  • TAE Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;
  • TAE Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;
  • TAE Diploma of Training Design and Development;
  • TAE Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;
  • Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
