About the Client

Our client is a family-owned and operated farming enterprise located in the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland. With a proud history of producing top-quality fresh produce, they're not just passionate about farming, they're passionate about their people too. Their farms are built on strong community values, sustainable practices, and a genuine commitment to looking after the land and those who work on it.

Joining their team means becoming part of a workplace that values safety, teamwork and open communication, where you're more than just an 're family.

About the Job

We are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager who is as passionate about people as they are about processes. While this role is primarily office-based, you'll also spend some time on-site to understand day-to-day operations and ensure safety systems are practical and effective.

This is a full-time permanent role (approx. 38 to 44 hours per week) with a starting rate of $38.00 per hour, negotiable based on skills and experience.

Flexibility is also available for the right candidate.

Key Criteria

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead the day to day WHS management of farming operations
  • Carry out site audits and drive continuous improvement
  • Support investigations, prepare reports and create practical, effective safety systems
  • Lead and deliver key WHS projects such as:

  • Hazardous substances measurement and analysis

  • Fit testing programs
  • Chemical inventory improvements
  • Fuel monitoring system rollout
  • WHS online system implementation

Support in Place

You won't be starting from scratch Existing staff members have developed strong WHS systems and can provide guidance and knowledge to help you succeed in this role.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is approachable, organised, and ready to make a difference. You'll bring:

  • Solid WHS knowledge and hands-on experience
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Confidence with spreadsheets and data (bonus points if you secretly love them)
  • Great communication skills: you can explain things clearly and keep people engaged
  • Leadership potential, with the ability to guide a support person down the track
  • A current driver's licence to travel between farms

Extra brownie points if you have:

  • Experience with Freshcare, Sedex, or Fair Farms compliance
  • A background in farming, agriculture or agronomy
  • Advanced Excel skills and a love for neat systems

What's in it for You?

This is more than just a safety role, it's a chance to shape the future of farming operations in a business that genuinely values your input. You'll enjoy:

  • A workplace that treats you like family
  • The chance to work in one of the most stunning regions of QLD
  • Variety in your day: from office-based projects to on-site engagement
  • Support from a close-knit management team
  • Flexibility with hours to suit your lifestyle
  • The opportunity to grow into a leadership role

If you're someone who loves problem-solving, thrives on variety and genuinely cares about keeping people safe, this role is your chance to shine.
