We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead our cabinetry manufacturing operations, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe production. This is a key leadership role reporting to the Manager – Production, responsible for achieving production, quality, productivity, and financial targets while fostering a Lean manufacturing culture.

About the Role:

As Factory Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our cabinetry team, delivering on-time, high-quality products that meet customer expectations. You will drive continuous improvement, optimise resources, eliminate waste, and create a culture of operational excellence and customer focus.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and motivate the cabinetry production team to achieve schedules, KPIs, and budget targets.
  • Embed Lean manufacturing practices across all areas, including standardised processes, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan production in collaboration with the scheduling team and GM–Production to maximise efficiency and workflow.
  • Ensure right-first-time quality through robust quality systems, defect prevention, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Prioritise customer requirements in all production decisions, delivering quality products on time and responding proactively to feedback.
  • Manage production costs, optimise equipment utilisation, and drive year-on-year productivity improvements.
  • Maintain equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, delivery, and other internal teams to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop a high-performing, engaged, and stable workforce through coaching, leadership, and succession planning.
  • Ensure a safe, organised, and compliant workplace using WHS standards and Lean tools such as 5S and visual management.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve operational issues that impact production, quality, or safety.

  • Achievement of production, productivity, and financial budgets
  • High product quality and minimal defects
  • Compliance with WHS and company policies
  • Accurate inventory management and efficient material flow
  • Engaged employees actively contributing to Lean initiatives

Your experience:

  • Proven leadership in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Track record in driving operational improvements using structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating across supply chain functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred experience:

  • Timber furniture or cabinetry manufacturing experience / knowledge of CNC machinery, automation, CAD, and production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Trade or technical qualifications in manufacturing or CNC operations.
  • Formal Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training/certification.
