About Your Opportunity
As the Planning Engineer – Asset Sustainability, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering planning and design work for a range of asset sustainability projects, including renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements. You will produce high-quality design and project management documentation for Sustaining Capital projects.

You will also ensure a smooth and effective transition of these projects to the Project Delivery team. Your expertise will be key in providing sound advice to support the efficient and prudent delivery of asset initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and documentation for asset sustainability projects, including renewals, refurbishments, and improvements, ensuring alignment with strategic and delivery goals.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management and Asset Planning teams during early project phases and manage consultant engagement, procurement, and design deliverables.
  • Oversee the full design lifecycle and support construction by ensuring design intent is communicated and implemented effectively.
  • Develop project documentation, assist with business cases, and support delivery activities including scoping and procurement planning.
  • Review and oversee consultant deliverables to ensure they effectively tackle key issues
  • Take charge of the entire design process, supervising concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages for asset renewals, improvements, and expansions, prior to passing them on to the Project Delivery team for implementation.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Class C Driver's Licence

Desirable

  • Previous internship or work experience in water supply, water utility, resource, consulting firm, or related organisation
  • Experience in linear infrastructure projects
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic engineering principles and water supply system

This position has a salary range of $115,844 – $128,520 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
