Junior Project Engineer

Our Client
We are proud to be in partnership with this privately owned, dynamic, Australian engineering company. They have more than 30 years collective experience in design, installation and engineering of process and packaging lines and installations across numerous industries.
They design, manage, and deliver practical mechanical and structural engineering projects for some of Australia's leading industrial clients. Due to significant growth they are looking for a motivated Junior Project Engineer to support their experienced team and develop hands-on skills in both design and site-based project delivery.
About the role
Working under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, you'll gain exposure to all stages of project execution, from design and documentation through to site supervision and commissioning. This is a dynamic, hands-on role, ideally suited to someone eager to grow their technical and project coordination skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site visits to assess existing layouts and project requirements
- Supervising installation and construction activities to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
- Preparing layout drawings, scope of works, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Coordinating contractors and managing safety documentation on active worksites
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling, and reporting using MS Projects
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with WHS and quality standards
About You
You're a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys both field work and design. You're equally comfortable discussing technical solutions with contractors on site as you are producing high-quality engineering drawings in the office.
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (completed or near completion)
- 2–5 years' experience on industrial or manufacturing sites
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D modelling software
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A valid NSW C Driver's Licence
Desirable:
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
- Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS1418, AS4100, AS1657)
- Previous exposure to contractor or project management
The benefits
- Exposure to a wide variety of industrial projects and clients
- Supportive environment that values professional development
- A mix of site and office-based work (approximately 60–70% site work)
- Opportunity to build your career with a growing, respected engineering consultancy
If you're ready to take the next step in your engineering career and gain hands-on experience across diverse projects, we'd love to hear from you. APPLY NOW via the link below and we'll be in touch promptly
