The OpportunityWe are seeking a talented and driven Contract Administrator to join our commercial contracts team. Based in our Melbourne Head Office, you will be integral to the successful delivery of projects by overseeing our multiple subcontract packages ranging from $50k to $2 million.
This role provides exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong focus on carpentry and fit-out works. For those interested in broadening their experience, there will also be opportunities to travel to Perth and work directly with our project teams on the ground.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review, and administer subcontract packages and purchase orders
- Negotiate, let, and manage contracts in line with project requirements
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Manage variations, progress claims, and contractual correspondence
- Support project teams with cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Uphold MD Group's commitment to quality, safety, and compliance across all projects
You will be an organized, commercially astute professional who thrives in a fast-paced project environment. To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Contract Administrator within the commercial construction sector
- Background in carpentry and fit-out projects, with strong knowledge of associated subcontractor packages
- Sound understanding of contract law and project financials
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction/project management systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Work on a wide variety of projects across Melbourne and Perth, with a strong pipeline in carpentry and fit-out
