This is a senior regulatory contract within a large, well-established telecommunications organisation operating across Australia's fixed and mobile networks. The role sits within the economic regulation function and plays a key part in shaping regulatory strategy, influencing policy outcomes, and supporting commercial decision-making in a highly regulated environment.
You'll work closely with regulators, government bodies and internal commercial teams, with genuine visibility and impact across pricing, access and industry frameworks.
Logistics
- Location: NSW, 2113
- Working model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite
- Contract length: 12 months
- Day rate: $1,100 - $1,200 + super (PAYG), negotiable
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to economic regulatory strategy across fixed, mobile and wholesale products
- Prepare and manage submissions to bodies such as the ACCC, ACMA and Department of Communications
- Analyse regulatory determinations and policy changes, assessing business and commercial impact
- Partner with legal, compliance, network and commercial teams to align regulatory positions
- Support engagement with regulators, government and industry forums
- Build and maintain economic and cost models to support pricing and access arrangements
- Provide clear advice to senior leaders on regulatory risks and opportunities
Requirements
- 8-10+ years' experience in economic regulation within telecommunications, infrastructure or utilities
- Strong understanding of Australian telecommunications regulation and competition policy
- Proven experience engaging with regulators such as the ACCC and ACMA
- Solid economic, pricing or cost modelling capability
- Tertiary qualification in economics, law, public policy, finance or similar
