We're looking for a Recycling Supervisor to assist with operations at our Containers for Change depot in Gympie. This part-time role is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong organisational and people management skills.

You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability while maintaining a strong focus on workplace health and safety with exceptional customer service.

This role involves leading and supporting staff, directly reporting to the Site Supervisor to optimise processes, and upholding compliance standards to create a safe, productive, positive workplace and a customer-friendly environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise staff and depot operations
  • Ensure workplace health and safety compliance
  • Operate forklift for loading/unloading
  • Engage with customers and promote services regionally
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment

What we're looking for:

  • Proven leadership and team supervision experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • High level of skill in developing, implementing, and maintaining accurate records and systems to ensure the continuous enhancement of services is provided.
  • Good understanding of IT equipment and computer software.
  • Ability to recognise, respond to and prevent incidents through the adoption of Risk Management strategies.
  • Well-spoken and presented to liaise with customers and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications and Licences:

  • Must hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
  • Hold a current Open Class C Drivers Licence
  • Hold or ability to obtain a current high-risk work (forklift) Licence
  • Hold or ability to obtain a current First Aid Certificate
  • Hold or ability to obtain a National Police Check
  • Right to Work in Australia

Desirable:

  • Local area knowledge and an existing wide network of contacts with community groups would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with current recycling practices.
