Role Description

We're looking for a Junior WordPress Frontend Developer to join us on a contract basis. This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, but we welcome applicants who prefer flexible or remote work qualified to work in Australia. As part of our small, dynamic team, you'll:

  • Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and functionality, following custom designs with clean and maintainable code
  • Support the creation of responsive, user-friendly web pages
  • Collaborate with designers to translate Figma/UI designs into working websites
  • Use your coding skills across PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery
  • Troubleshoot and resolve frontend issues across browsers and devices
  • Contribute ideas and energy to a collaborative, agency-style team environment

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong WordPress development skills (themes, templates, plugins)
  • Ability to build custom WordPress themes and functionality from design to delivery
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind
  • Demonstrated experience working in an agency environment
  • Ability to take Figma/UI designs and bring them to life in WordPress
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly in an agile, fast-paced beta environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Bonus points for:

  • Exposure to WooCommerce
  • Knowledge of basic SEO practices

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 4 weeks

Pay: $250.00 – $900.00 per day
