The Opportunity

As a Procurement Lead Mining Equipment Procurement, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the strategic sourcing and category management of mining equipment. You'll drive cost efficiencies, foster innovation, mitigate risk, and ensure procurement strategies align with operational and business needs.

Aspects of the role will include

  • Developing and implementing category strategies, conducting market analysis and leading sourcing initiatives including tenders, negotiations, and contract finalisation.
  • Overseeing key suppliers, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Managing key agreements, including KPI reporting, quarterly reviews and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborating with operations, maintenance, finance, and HSE teams to align procurement with business needs.
  • Providing guidance and leading a team member to ensure effective management of project equipment hire and acquisitions.

Your Background

  • A Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field is highly regarded.
  • Strong HME category development and strategic sourcing experience within the mining or construction industries.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, systems, and legislation.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships with stakeholders, and manage diverse priorities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
