Located in the heart of Hobart, this 221-room premium hotel offers an exceptional location, unique design, outstanding service, and an exciting dining concept. The premium-branded Mövenpick Hotel and 'Tesoro' Modern Italian Restaurant offer an exciting Food & Beverage concept across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as hotel in-room dining and conference & events.

Job Description

  • Assist with day-to-day operations with the guests in the restaurant
  • Ensure professional and friendly service is provided to all guests in each interaction
  • Clear and reset tables and ensure service areas are clean and tidy
  • An unbridled passion for food and love sharing your 'food stories' with our patrons. Experience and knowledge of Italian cuisine are preferred
  • The confidence to explain our menu to guests with gusto, assisting those with special dietary needs or preferences, and providing enthusiastic assistance when recommending wine and beverages.
  • Anticipate guest needs and create unforgettable dining experiences
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and attending to their dining needs
  • Collaborate with team members to respond to guest requests and resolve any issues professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables
  • Assist with event setups and functions in the conference suites and restaurant

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience
  • Your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
  • The ability and flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
  • Great communication skills, presentation and confidence to engage with guests
  • A passion for maximising sales opportunities by upselling items
  • A calm nature in the midst of a fast-paced environment
  • A team player with the ability to assist in all areas of F&B operations during peak times
