Position Overview:

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Casual Barista to join our team at the [Name] National Park Café. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a relaxed natural environment, providing great coffee and warm customer service to visitors exploring the park.

As a Barista, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, preparing high-quality beverages, and supporting smooth café operations during both quiet and busy periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee, cold drinks, and light meals
  • Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and professional attitude
  • Operate the POS system and handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café, coffee machine, and service areas
  • Assist with restocking supplies and ensuring food safety standards are met
  • Work efficiently during peak visitor times, especially on weekends and holidays
  • Support the team in creating a positive experience that reflects the values of the national park

Requirements:

  • Availability to work weekends, with flexibility for extended shifts during summer and school holidays
  • Previous barista or café experience (minimum 6 months preferred)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace

Desirable:

  • Coffee art skills and passion for quality beverages
  • Food Handling or Barista certification
  • Experience working in tourism, hospitality, or outdoor settings

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
