Job tasks and responsibilities

Respond to service calls for vehicle breakdowns.

Identify and diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions in engines and their components.

Utilize computer-assisted diagnostics to test and pinpoint faulty parts.

Disassemble and remove vehicle components such as engine assemblies, transmissions, and steering mechanisms for inspection.

Repair or replace defective and worn-out parts, then reassemble mechanical components, consulting service manuals as necessary.

Reassemble engines and other parts once repairs are complete.

Conduct testing and make adjustments to mechanical parts to ensure optimal performance post-repair.

Inspect vehicles and issue certificates of roadworthiness, or detail the work required to achieve it.

Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to improve vehicle efficiency and meet environmental regulations.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Current Automotive Trade Qualification is essential

  • A strong desire to "get it right" every time - Including paperwork

  • The ability and desire to work as part of a team

  • Proven ability to work across multiple automotive brands

  • Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Positive attitude and customer -first mindset
