About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Research Officer to research projects, analyse complex data, and present insights to support Aboriginal communities.The role contributes to delivering the NSW Government's commitments under Closing the Gap and advancing Aboriginal land and cultural heritage reform. You'll be part of Aboriginal Affairs within the Reform and Innovation team — a team dedicated to working in genuine partnership with Aboriginal peoples and communities to shape policies and reforms that reflect their voices, needs, and aspirations.

We're Looking For

Quantitative Research & Data Analysis Ability to design, conduct, and manage quantitative research, including statistical analysis from diverse data sources, to generate evidence that supports policy, strategy, and decision-making.

Insightful Communication & Reporting Skilled in clearly communicating complex data findings through concise written and verbal reports tailored to audiences with varying levels of statistical knowledge, including senior decision-makers.

Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Experience providing data-driven advice to inform policies supporting Aboriginal communities and effectively managing relationships with key stakeholders such as government departments and Aboriginal community representatives.

Project Design & Collaboration Capacity to contribute to project design and undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis, while actively participating in working groups and consultations to deliver outcomes aligned with strategic objectives like the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
