Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy team / department at Northern Hospital Epping.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Senior Clinician has a leadership role in the provision, organisation and development of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy services at Northern Hospital Epping and across Northern Health.

Northern Hospital Epping provides services seven days a week that include; intensive care, coronary care, respiratory care, oncology, general medicine, general surgery, chronic disease management and emergency services.

The role includes supervision, cover and leadership of the inpatient physiotherapy team. The clinical caseload focuses on delivery of evidence based, cardiorespiratory physiotherapy care.

This is a permanent part-time role at 30.4 hours per fortnight.

Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in client care, promotion of quality assurance, program development and supervision and education of staff and students.

The Senior Clinician will work closely with the Clinical Leader to monitor, evaluate and develop their service area. They will also work alongside other acute Senior Clinicians to manage staffing levels and demand within the inpatient team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A background which includes significant clinical experience resulting in high level of skill in general cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
  • Demonstrated sound clinical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence based practice
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experienced in supervision of junior physiotherapy staff and/or Allied Health Assistants
  • Experience in the management and education of undergraduate physiotherapy students
