Despite what the name might lead you to believe, we're not doctors, medical researchers, or anything medical for that matter, apart from a few of our customers who are. We're a passionate bunch of engineers and designers who love leaning into best practices and zombie culture.

Patient Zero is more a tech company than consultancy, founded on the knowledge that better decisions, innovation, and problem-solving come from teams of people with diverse viewpoints. We work in teams alongside our customers to design and build custom software.

Key to our team culture is ensuring independence, autonomy, and equal share of voice regardless of seniority. Your role is to ensure those values are upheld, and that team members have a broad range of skills, from technical, to leadership, culture, and emergent development practices. Leadership at PZ is not a title, it's not a hierarchy; everyone in the team is a leader.

We're looking for someone with leadership qualities who likes to work in teams of 4-9 people and can:

  • Establish a collaborative and thriving working environment for you and your teammates
  • Be proactive, propose solutions and influence architecture decisions for the products we build
  • Enjoy working on various aspects of software development: architecture, frontend, backend, automated testing, deployment, etc.
  • Mentor and educate peers on software quality and promote development best practices
  • Break down complexity in a way that enables the people around you to be productive and engaged, particularly junior developers and customer developers

We're tech agnostic and full-stack, working mostly in TypeScript, C# & Java, ReactJS, NodeJS, Spring Boot and .NET Core, some iOS/Android, and much more. We always aim for the right implementation with a soft spot for immutable, containerised approaches, elegant architecture and DevSecOps principles.

You'll be part of a small cross-functional team that has:
